Platinum Trophies, no challenge necessary?

Ah yes, the mighty Platinum trophy. The horror stories of countless hours burned through the night to claim such a grand trophy. However, is the Trophy it self hard to get? Actually no, its the same thing time and time again. "Get all other trophies" and thats it. The Platinum trophy in a sense has no actual difficulty to over come to obtain it. Just get all other trophies.

in-fact the latest plat I unlocked was by getting the final bronze trophy. Hilarious, getting a bronze trophy then BAM you got the platinum. It made me think, shouldn't Platinum it self have an actual challenge. For example Gold trophies, which are typically obtained through completion of harder difficulties, beating some high score or taking down some big boss. Nothing feels better to over come a big challenge and see that glorious Gold Trophy flash on your screen. So why cant Platinum have one too?

Honestly thats how I have always thought Platinum should be achieved by completing the most insane face melting challenge. Now many would argue that getting all other trophies IS the biggest challenge possible but honestly with todays releases, theres a long list of easy to get platinum games out there. I would be ashamed to have those games listed under my profile.

Some of todays latest games have some of the worst trophy list out there. It seems to be an ever growing list of trophies that require some of the most ridiculous amount of time just for a simple sliver or even bronze. Your lucky to even get a Gold out of it. So gamers continue to go through what I like to call "pointless" attempts of trophies created by the devs as mere tricks to add "length" to the game. But in all honesty it makes me desire the game less and less as I play. Then after all the choirs oops i mean trophies are done. You finally get the Platinum, which in some cases your just dam glad to have that game finished.

So for me, in my opinion. I think it would be nice to see a Platinum trophy have a single goal to be obtained. A true challenge that best the most hardcore of gamers. Instead of "wow you got platinum, geez how many hours did you spend on it?"

BTW I just got my 5 plat, ^ - ^

I think the point of a platinium is to show MASTERY.
I know it sounds stupid on paper, but that's the point.

Not all games employ the mastery concept, while others do. (Read: Wipeout HD trophies)

I think it's great as it is.
So even though you're missing a bronze trophy, u can't get the plat till u knock that last pin down.

You can only get a strike if you knock em all dead ya know?
I love that concept, the challenge of the Platinium is all the trophies combined.
You may be a really superb MP person, but if you suck at SP, u won't get the plat.
So it's something to work towards.

The single goal of a platinium (in my mind) is to complete all the challenges the rest of the trophies offer, not just the gold trophies and move on.

Tiny Garden Review | NoobFeed

Asura from NoobFeed writes: Tiny Garden has something that not many games do, but players who want high risks might not be happy with it. In a field that is addicted to speed, it offers structured stillness. Its steady assurance is what makes it unique. Tiny Garden is more interested in long-term attention than short-lived thrill.
